Linyi is an important logistics and trade wholesale center in East China's Shandong province, and it is rapidly expanding a logistics network that includes road, rail, air, and water transport to connect Asia and Europe. Commodities from Linyi are sold in more than 20 countries and regions.

A logistics landscape of "roads plus TIR" has taken shape. "From Linyi to Moscow, Russia, we now need only 12 to 15 days, a reduction of over 20 days compared to the time required previously," said Yan Wenguang, chairman of Zhong'an International Logistics (Linyi) Co Ltd.

The TIR cross-border transport model allows transport vehicles to cross national borders without unloading cargo, enhancing efficiency for Linyi's logistics enterprises. Currently, Linyi has six TIR enterprises with the largest number of TIR vehicles in the country. The city has nurtured 40 international road transport enterprises and opened 12 direct international routes covering nine countries, including Russia and Belarus.

With the opening of multiple international routes to Central Asia, Central Europe, Central Mongolia, and ASEAN, railway international logistics has become a crucial driver for Linyi's opening-up. Last year, 452 China-Europe freight trains passed through, establishing an international logistics network covering 40 cities in 12 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Germany, and Poland.

Linyi's international air cargo transport has also made progress. In 2024, Linyi Airport operated 480 flights to Seoul, handling 2,067 metric tons of cargo. Currently, facilities such as the Linyi airport comprehensive cargo hub and mail processing center are rapidly being constructed.

Intermodal transport linking land and sea is fostering a new pattern of coordinated development in the port city. Over 90 percent of goods transited to Qingdao Port are from Linyi. "Through cooperation with ports like Qingdao and Rizhao, we have established Linyi's first inland maritime container center, helping companies reduce logistics costs by 30 percent," said Hua Qianli, manager of Linyi Port.
