Linyi Trade City, a large market cluster, a crucial logistics hub, and a wholesale trading center based in Linyi, East China's Shandong province, has been intensifying its foreign trade reforms and accelerating its internationalization efforts.

Last year, it actively implemented strategies to optimize commercial logistics, resulting in a market transaction volume of more than 660 billion yuan ($90.4 billion), a year-on-year increase of 7.8 percent, and a total logistics volume surpassing 1 trillion yuan ($136.9 billion), a year-on-year increase of 7.9 percent.

In recent years, merchants in the trade city have increasingly embraced the trend of expanding globally. Three months ago, Zhao Qingchao, general manager of Linyi Mukun Trading Co Ltd, traveled to Oman for a month to study the local market. After gaining a deeper understanding, he decided to set up a shop there and expressed confidence in expanding his business.

"We have rented a 300-square-meter store, primarily selling automotive floor mats, seat cushions, and other products from Linyi. We are using Linyi's wood panels, food items, furniture, and other products to build a supply chain model," Zhao said.

During his trip to Oman, Zhao researched local demands and identified areas where products from Linyi Trade City could meet market needs.

Linyi Trade City is also focusing on digital commerce by constructing a massive digital platform. The Chinamarket digital commerce comprehensive service platform 1.0 version has been launched, with over 500 merchants joining and offering more than 30,000 products. Additionally, the Linyi commercial logistics big data platform has registered over 5,000 cargo owners and 20,000 vehicles.

This year, Linyi Trade City plans to undertake six major initiatives, including enhancing international trade, creating a digital commerce hub, developing a logistics hub, promoting comprehensive synergy, and establishing a renowned exhibition city.
