"I'm asking you to be a global citizen with a global vision, contributing to global peace, global development, and sustainable development," said Ban Ki-moon, eighth secretary-general of the United Nations and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Korea, during the 2026 China–ROK youth SDGs exchange week in Weifang, East China's Shandong province.

Held from Oct 29 to Nov 1, the event brought together over 2,000 teachers and students from China and South Korea. Through interactive activities, including kite-making, and open dialogue on sustainable development, the gathering bridged cultural divides and empowered young people to build a shared future.
