Niqman Rafaee, minister counsellor (trade) at the Embassy of Malaysia in China, highlighted Shandong's strengths in manufacturing and agriculture, as well as Linyi's extensive wholesale markets and logistics network, as advantages for Malaysian businesses looking to source products and expand their presence in the Chinese market.

He made the remarks at the fourth Linyi Trade City International Sourcing Conference, which is being held from Oct 28 to 30 in Linyi, Shandong province.

He also highlighted potential cooperation in machinery and equipment, industrial materials, processed food and halal products, as well as cross-border e-commerce and logistics. More than 100 representatives from 80 Malaysian companies attended the conference, reflecting Malaysian businesses' strong interest in exploring opportunities in Linyi and developing long-term commercial partnerships with the city.

He added that Malaysia could serve as a strategic base for Shandong businesses looking to expand into ASEAN markets.
