Shandong Museum's exhibition centered on ancient Chinese clothing culture opened at the Museum of Black Civilizations in Senegal on July 29, presenting China's traditional aesthetics, etiquette, and craftsmanship.

The exhibition features 20 themed panels and 10 replicas of Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) clothing, highlighting the origins of Chinese clothing culture, the clothing system of the Ming Dynasty, and the preservation and innovation of traditional attire. Through displays of clothing, fashion shows, and cultural products, the exhibition introduces visitors to the designs, patterns, craftsmanship, and cultural values behind ancient Chinese clothing.

Abdou Simbandy Diatta, director of the Museum of Black Civilizations, said clothing is not only an artistic creation but also a reflection of social identity, rituals, and cultural traditions. He noted that the exhibition allows visitors to better understand the culture surrounding Chinese clothing, including ritual norms and Confucius' teachings. The exhibition also incorporates elements of African traditional attire, creating a platform for dialogue between Chinese and African civilizations.

This is the first exhibition held by Shandong Museum at an African museum. The two museums also signed a cooperation agreement to promote exchanges in areas such as cultural relic preservation, research, exhibitions, and public education.
