More than 30 doctors and international students from over 10 countries, including Algeria, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Palestine, and Lebanon, explored traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture in Jinan on June 27, with a focus on Yellow River sand therapy.

The visit took participants to the Yellow River sand therapy museum and the Shenghan clinic, where they learned how the centuries-old therapy has evolved from traditional healing methods into a modern wellness approach. Exhibits of historical treatment tools and sand-based healthcare products offered insight into the evolution of the practice.

Participants also experienced the therapy firsthand. Using heated massage tools and sand-filled therapy tools made with sterilized fine Yellow River sand, they learned how it is used for relaxation and rehabilitation. Demonstrations of massage techniques and acupuncture-point identification introduced participants to key TCM concepts.

Beyond clinical practice, the program showcased the cultural side of Chinese medicine. Visitors made herbal sachets and sand rubbings, while sampling TCM-inspired coffee and herbal drinks.

The event provided international visitors with a hands-on introduction to Yellow River sand therapy, offering a closer look at the cultural heritage and contemporary application of TCM.
