"I think it is really amazing to focus so much on Chinese traditional art while we're in very modern times," said Zhang Jennifer Kerstin, chairwoman of the German-Chinese Association for Scientific and Cultural Exchange. She made the remarks during the opening ceremony of the 21st Calligrapher Sage Culture Festival of Linyi on Sept 20, praising the city's efforts in promoting and preserving the rich heritage of Chinese calligraphy.
