The Mencius Research Institute was recently invited to an international Confucian culture exchange in South Korea. The event attracted over 50 scholars from China, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, the United States, and Germany for Confucian cultural exchanges and exploration.

During the event, Yuan Ruxu, director of the Mencius Research Institute, introduced the institute's achievements and shared his views on the future development of Confucianism. He said that Confucianism, originating in China and influencing East Asia and the rest of the world, is a vital part of Chinese civilization and a common spiritual gene of the East Asian cultural circle. He proposed deepening basic research, exploring modernization paths, creating new communication methods, and strengthening cooperative mechanisms.

He further expressed his hope to strengthen cooperation with South Korean and global institutions to promote cultural exchanges and build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Yuan also attended the opening ceremony of the Korean Confucian Culture Expo 2025, which aims to showcase the charm of Confucian culture in South Korea and preserve its valuable spiritual heritage.
