Print PrintThe China–South Korea (Yantai) Industrial Park is reinforcing Yantai's standing as a premier destination for South Korean investment, with its integrated industrial, innovation, and living ecosystems set to deepen bilateral economic ties.
Spanning 80.4 square kilometers across three districts, including the Yantai Economic and Technological Development Area, the Yantai High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, and Muping district, the park is Shandong's only national-level industrial park dedicated to cooperation with South Korea.
Major South Korean projects anchor its growth. Hyundai Motor's largest overseas R&D center, which is also its only global new energy vehicle research base outside its Namyang R&D Center in South Korea, is located here, alongside Hanwha Ocean and Hyundai Heavy Industries.
Atomy's first overseas brand center opened on Sept 1, with its logistics center, launched in September 2025, now handling over 20,000 orders daily. Six industrial clusters have taken shape, covering new energy vehicles, electronic information, new materials, high-end equipment, life sciences, and modern services.
Innovation cooperation is deepening. The China–South Korea Science and Technology Innovation Incubation Base has hosted 39 South Korean startups and organized over 100 matchmaking events. Joint laboratories in brain-computer interfaces and regenerative medicine were also contracted for development this year.
The park has rolled out over 100 institutional innovations, including cross-border approval and remote account opening. A South Korean community of 665 residents reflects the growing sense of belonging among investors and employees, reinforcing Yantai's appeal as a place where South Korean businesses and families choose to stay and grow.
