As the global commercial vehicle industry shifts toward electrification, energy supply and charging infrastructure are increasingly important for electric heavy trucks.

At IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany, Sinotruk, a subsidiary of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, showcased an integrated energy system and its latest battery technology on Sept 17.

The company presented a wind-solar-storage-charging-swapping station centered on a smart microgrid that integrates renewable energy, diesel generation, the public grid and storage, and can operate on- or off-grid at ports, mines and remote sites. 

Its modular swapping stations can automatically swap a heavy-truck battery in three to five minutes, while mobile charging trucks serve sites without power infrastructure.

Sinotruk said the system has been deployed at 59 sites across 18 Chinese provinces and 43 sites in 33 countries and regions.

The company also displayed its cell-to-pack battery system, which groups blade cells directly without traditional modules. Available in 400, 600 and 800-kilowatt-hour configurations, it charges from 20 to 80 percent in 23 minutes.
