As the global road freight industry moves toward electrification and more efficient transport, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, or Sinotruk, unveiled its new-generation SITRAK 4×2 battery-electric tractor at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany, on Sept 14.

Under the theme "Powering All, Delivering One", Sinotruk presented the tractor as a solution for long-haul logistics and efficient electric transport.

The vehicle is equipped with a 600-kilowatt-hour battery and can travel more than 500 kilometers on a single charge. Its megawatt-level charging system can charge the battery from 20 percent to 80 percent in about 23 minutes.

With a curb weight of 10.1 metric tons, the tractor has a maximum payload of up to 44 tons and consumes about 1.1 kWh per kilometer, supported by a low-drag design and regenerative braking.

It also features an L2+ advanced driver-assistance system that can be used in about 90 percent of highway driving scenarios. It offers intelligent speed control, automatic lane changing and overtaking, obstacle avoidance, and automated ramp navigation.

Beyond the new tractor, Sinotruk presented its broader commercial vehicle, technology, service, and energy capabilities for overseas markets. The company said its products have been sold in more than 150 countries and regions, supported by 37 overseas knock-down plants, more than 1,000 service outlets and over 40 international training centers.
