A home service robot developed in Jinan is set to become the world's first to obtain dual certification based on Chinese and UK standards, opening up new possibilities for intelligent caregiving solutions in overseas markets.

Named "Liyang Xiaodangjia", the robot was showcased at a China–UK home service policy and industry roundtable held recently in Beijing. Developed by Jinan-based Liyang Shenzhou intelligent technology Co Ltd, the robot is powered by the "Liyang Yulu" artificial intelligence (AI) model and is being trained to meet home service requirements in both China and the United Kingdom (UK).

The robot is designed to handle labor-intensive caregiving tasks, including assisting elderly people with disabilities, bathroom cleaning, and household organization. Its intelligent capabilities are supported by the "Liyang Yulu" AI model, which was trained on professional knowledge accumulated by Sunshine Elder Sister, a Jinan-based housekeeping service agency. The model covers scenarios such as newborn care, elderly care, hospital assistance, and home organization, and is the first specialized life service large language model in China to be filed with the Cyberspace Administration of China.

The robot's international development is supported by a cooperation framework between Sunshine Elder Sister and the Training Qualifications UK. The two sides have aligned standards for three service roles – childcare, elderly care, and comprehensive care – with a 90 percent overlap between Chinese and UK requirements.

"Liyang Xiaodangjia" is currently undergoing training in Jinan, where it is practicing real-life service tasks according to both domestic and international standards.
