Tourism ties Shandong and Australia. The 2026 "Taste of China" exchange event and "Nihao! China" Inbound Tourism Roadshow were held at the China Cultural Center in Sydney on May 22.

Shandong presented its culture, tourism resources, cuisine, and cultural and creative products at the event, attracting more than 100 representatives from Australia's culture and tourism sector, business associations, local communities, and media outlets.

During a tourism promotion session, representatives from Shandong introduced the region's cultural and travel resources. The province, well-known as the hometown of Confucius, also boasts a rich natural heritage, such as Taishan Mountain, Jinan's springs, Qingdao's coastal charm, and the region's lively local lifestyle. Destination photos, videos from overseas content creators, and a story-based presentation gave guests a better picture of these.

Australian travel agents said the presentation gave them a complete picture of the destination and showed its potential to develop travel products.

Food was another highlight of the event. A photo exhibition on Kong Family cuisine presented the history and cultural meaning of the traditional cuisine, while a tasting area offered Tsingtao beer and local snacks.

Shandong also displayed Zibo glass art ornaments, Weifang kites, and other cultural and creative products, plus handed out multilingual brochures that gave guests tips for future trips.

The event helped raise Shandong's profile in Australia. Shandong will further leverage its transport advantages to facilitate tourism cooperation with Australia and develop more tourist products for Australian travelers.
