Print PrintA delegation from Qingdao Daily Newspaper Group paid a productive visit to Cairo from April 12 to 14, as part of the group's broader effort to expand its international communication network. Over the course of the visit, the delegation met with several of Egypt's leading media and publishing institutions, making headway in news reporting, copyright collaboration, and cultural exchange.
To strengthen media ties, the delegation held talks with prominent Egyptian outlets, including Rose al-Yusuf and Al-Ahram. A major highlight was the signing of a framework agreement on friendly exchange with Al Gomhuria. Wang Qiansong, general manager of Qingdao Daily Newspaper Group, and Ahmed Ayoub, editor-in-chief of Al-Gomhuria, agreed to establish a regular content-sharing mechanism and pursue wide-ranging cooperation in news reporting, cultural promotion, and resource sharing.
In the publishing sector, the delegation held substantive discussions with Al Mahrousa publishers on the Arabic translation of Qingdao-themed books. They also engaged with Akhbar Al-Adab to promote regular exchanges of literary works. With Sefsafa Publishing House, the group explored the possibility of creating a dedicated zone for the group's books at the 2027 Cairo International Book Fair.
The delegation also visited the Haier Smart Home Egypt Ecological Park in the 10th of Ramadan. Journalists from the international communication center documented the day-to-day collaboration between Chinese and Egyptian employees.
Through extensive content exchanges and strategic partnerships, Qingdao Daily Newspaper Group has laid the groundwork for an international communication network stretching from Qingdao to Egypt and across the broader Middle East, allowing Qingdao's story to resonate along the Nile.
