Shandong's Dazhong News Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on friendly cooperation with Al-Ahram in Cairo, Egypt, on April 13 (local time).
Founded in 1875, Al-Ahram is one of the most influential Arabic newspapers, extending its reach across the Middle East through multilingual publishing platforms.
The signing came at a meaningful moment, as this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of formal ties between China and Egypt. The event underscored the role the media can play in documenting this milestone and in fostering cultural exchange and people-to-people connectivity between the two countries.
At the symposium preceding the signing, Dazhong outlined several priorities for future cooperation. These include strengthening news collaboration through shared storytelling, jointly establishing media innovation labs to enhance communication capacity, broadening cooperation across multiple sectors to explore new models of portraying the news, and improving international communication to better engage in global discourse.
With the MoU signed, both sides agreed to build a long-term partnership to promote mutual understanding and friendly exchanges. Through closer media collaboration, the two organizations aim to further strengthen ties between Shandong province and Egypt.
