The direct flight between Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, and Macao began on Dec 11.

Operated by Air Macau, it is the second direct link between Shandong and Macao following the Qingdao route. The service operates three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays – with flights that are approximately two and a half hours.

The new connection enhances air travel, offering travelers more convenient and flexible options between the two destinations. It is expected to deepen cooperation and strengthen exchanges between Shandong and Macao.

The service will aid cooperation between Jinan and Macao, which have complementary strengths in advanced manufacturing and the digital economy, and in modern finance and the service industry.

It also creates an efficient channel for business interactions, helping Shandong products reach Portuguese-speaking markets and facilitating the flow of innovation resources from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to Shandong.
