Print PrintThe Jinan SkyShuttle train began operating on Dec 6, marking Shandong's first SkyShuttle route and China's first circular SkyShuttle line. The new service improves public transport efficiency and strengthens industrial synergy across the city.
Operating on exclusive elevated tracks with inner and outer circular lanes in both directions, the SkyShuttle reaches a top design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Spanning 30.55 kilometers, the trains serve 32 stations, including five transfer hubs connecting Jinan metro lines 2, 4, and 8, and link the Jinan Innovation Zone with Licheng district, key hubs of the city's innovation-driven industries.
The trains are intelligent, safe, and eco-friendly. Each two-car train measures 17.6 meters long and 2.4 meters wide, carrying up to 140 passengers. Fully automated and equipped with obstacle detection capabilities, the trains can navigate complex urban environments. Energy-efficient systems and noise-reduction designs ensure low energy use and quieter operation.
