Shandong province's intelligent computing sector has emerged as a key driver of technological innovation, reaching a remarkable scale of over 70 billion yuan ($9.9 billion) in the first nine months of this year.

The province has established several intelligent computing centers, including those in Qingdao and Jinan, which support projects in smart ocean and industrial quality inspection, as well as provide comprehensive services for the development and deployment of large models.

Shandong is home to 22 provincial intelligent computing cloud service centers, each with computing capacities exceeding 100 PFLOPS, bringing the province's total computing power to over 20.4 EFLOPS. In result, the province ranks ninth in China's comprehensive computing index.

This robust infrastructure has fueled the rapid growth of the large model industry, which generated 5.03 billion yuan in revenue in the first three quarters, marking a 102.25 percent year-on-year increase. By September, 249 large models had been deployed across sectors such as mining, automotive design, and pharmaceuticals.
