Tie Liu, a renowned writer and deputy director of the Reportage Literature Committee of the China Writers Association, shared the rich literary inspiration provided by the Yimeng Mountain area during a seminar in Linyi, Shandong province, on Sept 12.

The seminar invited prominent writers to discuss literary and artistic creation under the theme "Passing on the Yimeng Spirit".

The "Yimeng Spirit" is originated in the Yimeng Mountain region of Linyi during China's struggle for liberation in the 1930s and 1940s.

During the revolutionary war, more than 1.2 million of the 4.2 million people living in the Yimeng Mountain area made efforts to support the Red Army, with more than 200,000 joining the army to fight.

Tie also emphasized that a writer's source of creativity comes from real life experiences. The spirit forged in the Yimeng region during the war, characterized by hard work, self-improvement, selflessness, and dedication, has inspired generations of Chinese people and continues to resonate in many ways today.
