A Shandong-Japan industrial exchange with the tagline "smart manufacturing for a shared future" was held in Nagoya on Sept 12. The event was attended by 12 Shandong companies, including Haier and Weichai Group, and 64 Japanese companies from the automotive, equipment, and logistics sectors.

During the event, Shandong presented its achievements in high-level opening up, the transformation from old to new growth drivers, and advanced manufacturing, aiming to deepen market-opening actions and investment attraction efforts.

Japan is an important economic and trade partner of Shandong. The central region is one of the most developed manufacturing areas in Japan, and Aichi is a significant industrial center and a strong industrial county in Japan, with a concentration of industries such as automobile manufacturing, aerospace, robotics, and digital technology.

Shandong and Japan's central region have strong industrial complementarity in smart manufacturing and automotives, which will drive bilateral technological and project cooperation, according to a Japanese representative from a Japan-China economic exchange association of central Japan.

During the event, ROKAE from Japan showcased its robots and intelligent applications in the field of precision assembly, attracting interest from Japanese companies. Shandong's Linyi Lingong Intelligent Information Technology reached preliminary cooperation intentions with two Japanese companies in the field of intelligent warehousing. The event will promote investment and trade cooperation between Shandong and Japan in high-end equipment and smart manufacturing.
