The new Virtual Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in Shandong province officially went online on July 7.

The museum was upgraded from the previous version of the virtual museum, which was launched on July 7, 2015, as the country's first 3D museum dedicated to the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Since then, it has accumulated over 500 million visits across all platforms, becoming a widely recognized online patriotic education site.

In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, the Shandong Provincial Internet Media Group, guided by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Shandong Provincial Committee, comprehensively renovated and upgraded the virtual museum.

The new museum digitally reproduces historical events in 3D, incorporating nearly 200,000 words of historical materials, dozens of books, over 2,000 images and charts, almost 100 cultural relics, and nearly 100 audiovisual materials.

The AI digital tour guide "Wanwan" made its debut at the launch ceremony. With the help of AI technology, visitors can ask "Wanwan" questions and receive immediate and detailed answers, deepening their understanding of history.

Netizens can smoothly access the museum on multiple devices such as computers, mobile phones, and iPads, and share it on major social platforms at any time.

Du Xuexia, an associate professor from Shandong Normal University, said that the new museum has significant social value in educating people to remember history and cherish peace.
