Print PrintAn exhibition featuring 183 Zibo liuli (colored glaze) handcrafts – Luminous Brilliance: The Artistry of Zibo Glass – opened on June 10 at the National Museum of China, showcasing the rich history of Zibo liuli and its preservation.
One of the highlights was a glass replica of the crown with dragon and phoenix design, created by three "Generation Z" artists. The crown, owned by Empress Xiaoduan of the Ming Dynasty (1368 -1644), is a dazzling artifact with magnificent design and intricate craftsmanship. This replica took two months to complete, using 4,800 liuli beads.
