Shandong Lantian Smart Logistics Port, a key project under Shandong Lantian Group, is fast-tracking the transformation of Linyi city's logistics sector by embracing internationalization, digital innovation, and green development.

As part of China's Belt and Road Initiative, the port aims to build a robust "land-air-sea-rail" network while expanding its global reach through overseas warehouses and multimodal transport solutions.

With a legacy dating back to 1986 — when Lantian launched Linyi's first wholesale textile market — the company has evolved from traditional freight services into a modern third-party logistics pioneer. Today, its smart port integrates advanced technologies through strategic partnerships with the National Supercomputing Center in Tianjin and China Mobile. The result is a comprehensive digital platform powered by big data, cloud computing, and the internet of things, enabling intelligent operations and precision management across the park.

Currently operating 426 logistics lines that reach 34 provinces and 84 major cities and counties, the port overcomes the last-mile challenge and supports national freight dispatch from a single hub.

Sustainability is also central to its strategy. A 30-million-yuan ($4.16 million) rooftop photovoltaic project is underway, expected to generate 7.8 million kilowatt-hour annually, reducing costs and emissions while supporting EV charging. The port also leads in drone-assisted logistics, enhancing delivery speed by 30 percent over traditional methods.

In just over six months of operation, Lantian Smart Logistics Port has welcomed over 500 logistics businesses, created 8,000 jobs, and is projected to handle 22 million metric tons of freight annually — worth up to 150 billion yuan  — cementing its role as a model for high-quality logistics development in China.
