The International Zero-Carbon Island Construction Symposium, hosted by Yantai in East China's Shandong province, was recently held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in the construction of zero-carbon islands.

Following presentations by companies such as Dongfang Electronics and Tayho New Materials on their new energy and green materials development solutions for island nations, over 50 attendees delved into Yantai's active exploration and practices in promoting international cooperation on zero-carbon islands.

During the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference in 2024, Yantai took the lead in launching the "International Zero-Carbon Island Cooperation Initiative" and proposed the establishment of the "International Zero-Carbon Island Cooperation Organization". This organization aims to assist island nations in addressing climate change and achieving sustainable development.

Sri Lanka also received an invitation to join the cooperation organization during the symposium.

Yantai enterprises are expected to sign multiple agreements with Sri Lankan partners focusing on areas such as green materials and green energy, laying a solid foundation for deepening cooperation between the two sides.

In the future, within the framework of the "International Zero-Carbon Island Cooperation Organization", Yantai will participate in and promote Sri Lanka's green and low-carbon transformation. By helping to improve livelihoods and climate governance, the partnership aims to usher in a new chapter of prosperity and development.
