A group of artists from China and South Korea are currently gathering in Yantai, Shandong province, immersing themselves in the city's natural landscapes and cultural heritage in the hope of obtaining artistic inspiration.

This artistic exchange journey, which began on Feb 17, brings together 13 renowned South Korean artists and local Yantai creators for a three-day exploration of the coastal city.

Their itinerary includes visits to Houxujia village, home to Shandong's first rural art museum, and Mu's Manor, where they will experience intangible cultural heritage practices such as Jiaodong dough modeling and traditional paper-cutting.

The artists will also admire coastal scenery at Tianyue Bay and Fisherman's Wharf, while delving into Yantai's historical and cultural charm at iconic sites like Yantai Mountain, Chaoyang Street, Suochengli Block, and the 1861 Creative Industry Park.

The event is expected to yield a series of artworks reflecting Yantai's allure and celebrating the friendship between China and South Korea.

At the opening ceremony, several South Korean artists were appointed "Yantai City Ambassadors". "I will use my expertise in painting to showcase Yantai's natural beauty, cultural richness, and urban vitality to the world through high-quality art," said one participating artist.
