An intangible cultural heritage experience event titled "New Year Greetings from Yantai" was held in Kunsan, South Korea on Jan 10, offering a cross-cultural extravaganza to the local residents as Spring Festival approaches.

Various handcrafted items with distinct Yantai characteristics, including Laizhou brushes, Fushan paper-cutting, and Longkou dyed paper-cutting, made an appearance. The host provided detailed introductions to these works through video and photo presentations.

During the interactive experience segment, South Korean participants tried their hand at paper-cutting and learned to write the Chinese character for fortune using Laizhou brushes to convey New Year blessings. The event also featured performances of Haiyang yangko dance and a promotional video showcasing Laizhou's intangible cultural heritage.

With exquisite craftsmanship and profound cultural heritage, these artistic treasures from Yantai garnered praise from the South Korean people.

"This event has ignited my longing for Yantai. Yantai is a city rich in cultural heritage and traditional arts, especially the unique charm of Yantai paper-cutting. I will tell my friends and family to go experience it," said a Chinese major student at Kunsan National University.
