Ivan Kaukov, president of the Australian Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted Linyi's sourcing potential for Australian businesses at the fourth Linyi Trade City International Sourcing Conference, which is being held in Linyi, Shandong province, from Oct 28 to 30.
He said Linyi's diverse range of products, from building materials and household goods to robotics and machinery, makes the city a one-stop sourcing destination for Australian buyers. He added that the chamber would promote Linyi's sourcing opportunities to businesses in Australia.
The conference attracts more than 2,000 international buyers from over 110 countries and regions across Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Africa and the Middle East, along with more than 4,000 domestic purchasers, providing a platform for domestic and international businesses to connect and explore cooperation opportunities.
Linyi, known as the "Logistics Capital of China", is home to 136 specialized wholesale markets offering more than 6 million products across 27 major categories. From January to August, Linyi Trade City, one of China's largest wholesale market clusters, recorded total imports and exports of 85.75 billion yuan ($12.73 billion), up 9.7 percent year-on-year.
