What can a sourcing hub in Linyi offer buyers from Guyana?

Guyanese blogger Stacey Natalie Rahaman saw ways to connect buyers back home with Chinese wholesale suppliers at Linyi International Product Selection Center on Oct 21, from building materials and furniture to everyday essentials.

"Guyana is currently experiencing a developmental boom and a construction boom," said Rahaman. Linyi's markets provide all sorts of products that can facilitate development, she added.

With construction booming in Guyana, she said she sees real value in building these business connections in Linyi.

Linyi International Product Selection Center, which opened on Sept 30, is a dedicated foreign-trade marketplace connecting global buyers with a wide range of products from local manufacturers.

Covering 62,000 square meters, the center features 600 standardized stores offering products ranging from building materials and machinery to hardware, home goods and more.

Behind these stores is a supply chain network linking thousands of Linyi manufacturers, giving overseas buyers access to a broader range of local products and suppliers in one place.

Linyi, known as the "Logistics Capital of China", is home to 136 specialized wholesale markets offering more than 6 million products across 27 major categories. The city's more than 3,000 logistics routes connect it with all cities at or above the county level and ports across China.

From January to August, Linyi Trade City, one of China's largest wholesale market clusters, recorded total imports and exports of 85.75 billion yuan ($12.73 billion), up 9.7 percent year-on-year.
