A new electric heavy-duty truck from China made its global debut at IAA Transportation 2026 on Sept 14 in Hanover, Germany, drawing crowds of overseas customers seeking zero-carbon logistics solutions.

Shandong Heavy Industry Group (SDHI) presented its new energy lineup at the show with its three subsidiaries, Sinotruk, Weichai Group, and Hande Axle. Sinotruk displayed five models, led by the new-generation Sitrak 4×2 pure electric tractor, which was designed for medium- and long-distance zero-carbon logistics. The vehicle drew high praise for its long range, low energy consumption and fast charging capabilities.

Weichai released three new products: NG4.0 Pro 13L/14L/15L/16L gas engines for the European market, covering composite and trunk logistics; the WPH15DI hydrogen internal combustion hybrid powertrain, using a P2 parallel hybrid architecture for deep hydrogen-electric synergy; and the EM300 next-generation bottom-mounted battery with 600 to 800-kilowatt-hour capacity and 1200A charging, enabling a 20-minute charge to power four hours of driving.

Hande Axle showcased its latest e-drive axles, boasting high load capacity, efficiency and power. The products can coordinate closely with vehicle control and battery systems to reduce energy consumption and extend range.

The innovations highlight SDHI's capabilities across low-carbon and zero-carbon solutions, supporting the global new-energy transition of commercial vehicles.
