Shandong released new measures to support Taiwan-funded enterprises and businesspeople and signed framework agreements on two industrial parks as the 30th Shandong–Taiwan Economic and Trade Fair opened in Weifang, Shandong province, on Aug 31.

The agreements cover the joint development of a green new materials industrial park and a zero-carbon industrial park. Opportunities for deeper industrial integration between Shandong and Taiwan during China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–30) period were also presented at the opening ceremony.

About 800 participants from across the Taiwan Strait are attending the fair, one of the longest-running cross-Strait economic and trade exchange events held on the Chinese mainland. This year's event focuses on practical cooperation and new opportunities for industrial collaboration between Shandong and Taiwan.

The main venue in Weifang is hosting a conference on high-quality cross-Strait industrial integration and six themed events covering modern agriculture, green chemicals, marine health, intelligent manufacturing, youth entrepreneurship, and vocational education.

Parallel events are being held in Zibo, Jining, Dezhou, and Heze, focusing on industrial cooperation, economic and trade exchanges, and modern agriculture. Delegations will also visit Jinan, Qingdao, Tai'an, and Rizhao for sector-specific exchanges and business matchmaking.
