Naxianghai, a coastal resort in Rongcheng, Weihai, Shandong province, is developing a model that brings tourism and everyday community life closer together, with residents and visitors sharing public spaces, cultural activities, and leisure facilities.

Rather than operating solely as a sightseeing destination, the resort has integrated its residential and tourism spaces. Public facilities, including the cultural and arts hall, ecological sports grounds, and health-oriented community spaces, are open to both residents and tourists.

To date, Naxianghai has attracted more than 300 commercial tenants, including over 60 restaurants, three 3-star-rated hotels, and more than 100 homestays. By establishing a comprehensive ecosystem layout, it has extended the value chain and smoothed out the fluctuations in the off and peak season.

Cultural activities have also been launched. Naxianghai has organized events bringing together residents and tourists, including music performances, fashion shows, art salons, and island activities. Its first fashion culture festival, launched on July 31, connected professional models, residents, and tourists.
