The Conference on Digital Barter Industry Development and Multinational Trade Interconnection was held in Linyi, Shandong province, on Aug 5, bringing together experts, international business representatives, and more than 800 entrepreneurs from across China to promote digital barter trade and cross-border trade cooperation.

A key outcome of the conference was the launch of the drafting of the Group Standards for Compliance Management of Barter Enterprises. The standards are expected to provide guidance for industry practices, including fund management, blockchain-based recordkeeping, and risk control, supporting the sector's healthy development.

Experts from relevant fields shared insights into the future development of digital barter trade, highlighting the importance of improving industry standards and integrating digital technologies with trade services.

Representatives from seven countries – Russia, Ghana, Italy, Morocco, Thailand, Gabon and Colombia – attended the event and signed cross-border barter trade cooperation agreements. The agreements aim to facilitate two-way trade by connecting Chinese products, including machinery, building materials, and consumer goods, with overseas resources such as agricultural products, minerals, and specialty goods.
