Print PrintShandong's Juye county launched its first grape cultural tourism festival in Dushan town on July 4 at the foot of the Jinshan Mountain, an iconic local scenic area. The event blends grape growing, local culture, and agritourism into a single rural celebration, fueling development in the region.
Visitors explored vineyards, picked fresh grapes, hiked Jinshan Mountain, and enjoyed folk performances including Shandong qinshu storytelling and art performances. A traditional market also offered visitors hands-on craft experiences.
Behind the festival lies a broader rural development initiative. Dushan town has built a 260-mu (17.33-hectare) premium grape base with 72 temperature-controlled greenhouses, generating over 3.5 million yuan ($514,842.29) in annual output value.
By integrating the 4A-rated Jinshan Mountain Scenic Area with grape growing and countryside getaways, the town has created a model that turns farms into parks and agricultural products into souvenirs.
