Eric Zhang, China Chief Executive of SJ Group, highlighted Singapore's leading role in smart city development and data governance during a speech at the Qingdao Multinationals Summit in Shandong province on June 15. He noted that the city-state's experience can support China's urban innovation. 

Zhang said China's clear and forward-looking policy framework, combined with strong implementation capacity, has created significant opportunities for both domestic growth and international businesses.

He added that China's highly integrated industrial ecosystem enables exceptional efficiency in transforming ideas into prototypes and market-ready products, a capability that is difficult to replicate elsewhere.

On that note, Zhang mentioned the China-Singapore Future Technology City in the Jinan Start-up Area for Growth Drivers Transformation, where the goal is to build a smarter, more perceptible and people-centric urban community.
