For a decade, ecological photographer Zhong Fusheng has tirelessly captured the birds of Shandong province. His tens of thousands of images tell a remarkable story of environmental recovery.
In the early years, Zhong photographed just over a dozen bird species. Today, his lens has recorded more than 280 species, including 50 to 60 under top national protection. Rare birds that once seldom appeared are now frequent visitors. "It's not my photography that improved — Shandong's ecology truly has," Zhong says.
