Weifang Port, a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group, launched a new shipping route to Southeast Asia on Feb 27, with the maiden voyage of a specialized general cargo vessel to Cambodia. The first shipment, which included 75 engineering vehicles and various industrial equipment, represents a meaningful step in the port's international expansion.

This shipment is Weifang's first large-scale export of engineering vehicles, prompted by the increasing demand for infrastructure development in Southeast Asia. To optimize vessel capacity and reduce logistics costs, the port implemented advanced vehicle stacking methods, significantly boosting cargo efficiency and handling speed.

The launch is part of Weifang Port's larger strategic transformation. In recent years, the port has optimized its Southeast Asian supply chain by upgrading terminal operations and diversifying cargo handling capabilities. With established routes to Vietnam and Indonesia, Weifang Port has become a vital maritime gateway linking Shandong province to the ASEAN market.
