Weifang's GDP surpasses 850 billion yuan in 2025

Print PrintWeifang, Shandong province, reported a solid economic performance in 2025, with its GDP reaching 858.73 billion yuan ($123.74 billion), reflecting a 5.5 percent year-on-year increase, according to the city's Bureau of Statistics.
The industrial sector remained a key growth driver, with the added value of industrial enterprises above a designated size increasing by 7.5 percent. The power equipment and smart agricultural machinery industries continued to experience growth throughout the year.
Weifang has significantly optimized its industrial landscape, with automotive manufacturing joining the city's five key trillion-yuan industry value chains. Future growth is expected to be further boosted by the newly established provincial-level advanced manufacturing cluster and the newly approved Metaverse Future Industry Park.

In agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries, Weifang's total output value surpassed 140 billion yuan. This achievement secured the city's top ranking in Shandong province for the second consecutive year, reinforcing Weifang's reputation as the agricultural center of the region.
The city's total import and export volume reached 379.76 billion yuan, up 6.8 percent. Weifang has actively supported local enterprises in their global expansion efforts. In 2025, 743 new import and export businesses were established, bringing the total to 7,444. The digital economy also played a vital role, with cross-border e-commerce exports exceeding 23 billion yuan.
The domestic retail market performed well, with total retail sales of consumer goods reaching 358.49 billion yuan, a 6.3 percent increase. Over 600 large-scale events were held, boosting local spending and driving more than 10 billion yuan in consumption. The tourism sector also had a landmark year, with over 100 million visitors generating more than 100 billion yuan in revenue.
