Khalil Muri, managing director and chief executive officer of Petronas Lubricants International (PLI), met with Weifang Party Secretary Liu Yun on Jan 19 in a courtesy meeting that reaffirmed the longstanding relationship between PLI and the Weifang government.

Khalil, on behalf of PLI, expressed appreciation for the continued support from the Shandong provincial, Weifang municipal, and Hanting district governments in fostering strong engagement and advancing collaborative business development with local enterprises in Shandong province and Weifang city.

PLI's Weifang facility is recognized as one of the company's most advanced smart plants globally. Using advanced technologies, the facility produces high-performance lubricants for automotive and industrial applications, supporting key local sectors such as agricultural machinery and construction equipment. Its products have also received certifications from leading global automotive manufacturers, reflecting world-class quality and technical excellence.

Beyond manufacturing, PLI continues to collaborate with local partners to support Weifang's green development agenda. In 2025, the company initiated a photovoltaic project at its Weifang plant, contributing to China's "dual carbon" goals and reinforcing Weifang's position as a hub for eco-friendly and high-tech manufacturing.
