The construction of a sports center project in Lanshan district, Linyi has reached a milestone with the topping out of its main structure. The sports center will be a key venue for the 2026 Shandong Province Sports Games. 

The complex has a stadium, a multi-purpose gymnasium, and a swimming facility, together accommodating nearly 30,000 spectators. 

During the provincial games, it will primarily host basketball. The sports center also can support sports events covering volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and martial arts, and also can host large-scale cultural performances. 

The 26th Shandong Province Sports Games will open in Linyi on August 26, 2026, and will run for 10 to 12 days. The event is regarded as the largest and most prestigious comprehensive sporting event in Shandong.
