The Centennial Qiyuan Qipao Culture and Art Museum in Laishan district, Yantai, East China's Shandong province, launched a study tour program centered on the traditional Chinese culture surrounding the qipao on July 30, offering foreigners an immersive experience.

The centennial brand "Qiyuan", a longstanding establishment in Yantai, has seen three generations of dedicated stewardship. Despite its recent opening, the museum has welcomed over 20 international tourist groups.

Housing a collection of over 100 exquisite qipao dresses and accessories, the museum blends traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Through digital virtual techniques, the evolution of classic qipao dresses is brought to life, offering spectators insights into the garment's century-long metamorphosis in tailoring, fabrics, and craftsmanship.

Exhibits include classic pieces worn by historical figures like Lu Xiaoman (1903-1965) and Lin Huiyin (1904-1955), alongside contemporary works integrating over 60 national intangible cultural heritage techniques.

In a bid to give visitors a better understanding of qipao culture, the museum also provides interactive qipao try-on sessions. "My visit to the museum has deepened my knowledge of qipao's history. I am grateful for the opportunity to further appreciate Chinese culture," expressed a foreign visitor.

According to Chen Yanqin, the third-generation custodian of the centennial Qiyuan legacy, they aim to better promote Chinese culture through the qipao, particularly emphasizing the significance of embroidery, colors, and styles in clothing to showcase Yantai's rich cultural tapestry to a global audience.
