Over 70 people from China and abroad gathered at the first Financial Culture Forum, a parallel event of the 11th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations, on July 10 in Qufu, Shandong. They discussed the moral norms, economic ethics, and financial thinking embedded in China's excellent traditional culture and examined ways to promote Chinese financial culture and guide innovative financial practices.

Keynote speeches by prominent figures like Li Xunlei, chief economist of Zhongtai Financial International Ltd, and Yang Yucheng, chairman of New China Life Insurance, highlighted the influence of traditional Chinese culture on modern finance. Panel discussions, moderated by Hong Junjie, president of Shandong University of Finance and Economics, featured international experts who explored the roots of financial culture and future paths for innovation and cooperation.

The forum showcased Shandong's achievements in promoting Chinese financial culture and oversaw the release of a list of exemplary financial products and cultural venues. Wang Hong, chairman of Zhongtai Securities, emphasized the importance of integrating traditional wisdom with modern financial practice to drive high-quality development. Hu Jinyan, president of Qingdao University, said that the forum's hosting in Qufu, the birthplace of Confucianism, underscored the significance of traditional culture in modern finance.

Participants agreed that the forum provided a vital platform for promoting Chinese financial culture and fostering international dialogue. Future editions will continue to bridge academia and industry, contributing to global cultural exchange and economic development through high-quality financial services.

Distinguished participants included representatives of global financial institutions such as Korea Development Bank and DBS Bank, as well as domestic banks and insurance companies, who took part in the financial culture forum.
