A Confucianism study camp was held in Qufu, Jining, Shandong province, on June 23 and was attended by overseas experts, scholars, and talents for an exploration of Confucianism and the essence of traditional Chinese culture.

It aims to strengthen the exchanges between China and the globe, facilitating the cooperation in culture, technology, economy, and other fields.

Zhu Ruixian, Party committee member of the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, introduced that the strategy for overseas talents' Confucianism study was implemented by Shandong's Western Returned Scholars Association, aiming to offer premier platform for international talents to get further insights into Confucianism and boost the cultural exchanges among diverse civilizations.

"Shandong is a prime land of Chinese civilization. And 'benevolence', 'righteousness' and 'moderation', the concept that Confucianism advocates, bridge diverse cultures across the border," said Zhang Zhuxiu, vice-chairman of the Western Returned Scholars Association.

In recent years, Shandong is dedicated to improving strategies, development environment, and policies to attract talents at all levels. The event was chosen to be held in Jining, the hometown of Confucius, and provided platforms for international professionals to savor the unique charm of the land.

During the camp, attendees will visit the Confucian Temple, Mansion of Kong Family and the Confucius Museum, diving into an immersive and authentic experience of the beauty of the nature, history and culture in the sage's hometown.
