Print PrintAdhi Kusuma Yudha Halim, director of the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center in Shanghai, expressed his country's strong interest in trade cooperation during the fourth RCEP (Shandong) Import Expo held in Linyi, Shandong province from June 27 to 29.
He said this is Indonesia's first time participating in the expo. Seven Indonesian companies are exhibiting their high-quality products such as bird's nests, coffee, and snacks.
"We're looking for business partners, not only for business B2C, but we're also looking for distributors," he said, while expressing hopes of promoting Indonesian products to the Chinese mainland.
He also highlighted that since the signing of the RCEP, both Indonesia and China have enjoyed tariff preferences that have boosted trade between the two countries.
The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is comprised of 15 members – the 10 Association of Southeast Asian Nations member states, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Australia, and New Zealand. The RCEP was signed in November 2020 and went into effect on Jan 1, 2022, with the aim of gradually eliminating tariffs on over 90 percent of goods traded among its members.
