To support the preservation and modernization of this heritage, Tancheng Gaoda Hats Industry Factory established the Tancheng Langya Grass Weaving Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshop in 2022. Led by Xu Jingxue, a provincial-level master of the craft, the workshop serves as a training base for new artisans, helping to pass on this traditional skill to the next generation and contribute to rural revitalization.
The workshop features a dedicated design and innovation team focused on improving weaving techniques and developing new product lines. According to Xu Jingxue, the workshop has expanded beyond traditional Langya grass, incorporating imported high-end materials such as raffia, toquilla straw and sisal, allowing the integration of traditional craftsmanship with premium materials to meet modern market demands.
