Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, launched the Intangible Cultural Heritage Intellectual Property Rights Protection and Trade Promotion Week on April 22 to enhance the capabilities of inheritors of intangible cultural heritage to protect their IPR.

During the launch ceremony, innovative products such as the handmade silver teapot crafting technique were showcased. These works blend traditional intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship with modern creative design, showcasing the unique charm and innovative vitality of intangible cultural heritage in the new era.

Outstanding cases of innovation in IPR protection for intangible cultural heritage in Jinan were announced at the event. They emphasized the importance of systematic IPR protection for the dynamic preservation of intangible cultural heritage, enabling it to maintain its traditional essence while revitalizing it for the modern market to imbue it with both cultural and economic value.

The market activities featured displays of 35 intangible heritage items and 10 cultural creative units in the city. The event also included activities such as university students' IPR roadshows, robot performances, exhibitions of intangible heritage registration certificates, and displays of intangible heritage photos.

Jinan will establish a systematic framework for IPR protection and the development of intangible cultural heritage, opening up new pathways for the IPR protection of intangible cultural heritage.
