The 2025 Malaysia China Linyi Commodity Exhibition opened on April 25 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Approximately 60 companies from Shandong's Linyi presented products across five categories: sports goods, daily necessities, kitchenware, automotive supplies, and small construction hardware. The event also invited around 5,000 Malaysian buyers from relevant industries.

Malaysia, known as the "crossroads" of Southeast Asia, is a key hub for regional trade. In recent years, the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative between China and Malaysia has made steady progress, with frequent cooperation and exchanges.

The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement came into effect for Malaysia in March 2022, further boosting trade between the two countries. In 2024, Linyi's total import and export volume with Malaysia reached 8.91 billion yuan ($1.22 billion), a year-on-year increase of 67.9 percent, with exports accounting for 8.54 billion yuan and imports 370 million yuan.
