Luyuan town, a cultural tourism project located in Luyuan village of Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius, in East China's Shandong province, is expected to open to the public soon.

Covering an area of 1,762 mu (117 hectares), the town features elegant traditional Chinese architecture, blocks for situational experiences, traditional Chinese dance shows and other immersive activities designed to offer visitors an authentic Confucian experience.

"The Luyuan town project is being developed as a world-class humanistic tourist destination and an outstanding base for Chinese culture experiences, aiming to become the leading town for study tours in China," said Wang Junyi, general manager of Qufu Nishan Cultural Tourism Investment and Development Co.

Upon completion, the project will drive cross-industry collaboration, aggregation and integration, mutually supporting and interacting with the Nishan Sacred Land, a cultural experience base located in the Nishan Cultural Tourism Resort. It is expected to establish a large-scale cultural and tourism development model in the Nishan area, serving as a benchmark for promoting comprehensive tourism development in the region and leading high-quality development of local cultural tourism economy.

"I believe that the Confucius IP in Nishan grand area has the potential to become a cultural and industrial base representing the nation, with a global vision, and showcasing the culture of Shandong," Wang said.
