2024 short video competition winners revealed in Tai'an

Print PrintThe results of the 2024 International Short Video Competition were announced at the foot of Taishan Mountain in Tai'an, Shandong, on April 11, alongside the launch of the 2025 edition. The event selected over 20 outstanding video works for global dissemination and promotion.
Since its launch in October 2024, the competition has received 4,452 entries from domestic and international participants from over 60 countries and regions worldwide. As of now, the total number of views on various platforms such as Douyin, Kuaishou, TikTok, and YouTube has exceeded 2 billion, with overseas views and comments reaching 30 million.
"We are transforming cultural dissemination from 'Me speaking, you listening' to 'co-creation and empathy', and from 'Me seeing the world online' to 'the world seeing China online'," stated Yang Yong, deputy director of the International Cooperation Department of the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television, in his speech at the event.
Yang added that the short video competition has been held four times, selecting hundreds of outstanding works that showcase not only China's traditional culture but also vivid scenes of friendly exchanges between China and other countries.
He expressed his hope that creators of short videos from both China and abroad will actively participate in the 2025 International Short Video Competition, helping global audiences experience China's development firsthand and deepen cultural understanding through shared storytelling.
During the event, an international sharing session was also held to discuss how to better build international audiovisual communication platforms for communication, with participants engaging in enthusiastic discussions and in-depth exchanges.
Lin Jiayi, counselor of the Political Section at the Singapore Embassy in China, believes that video bloggers have unique strengths when it comes to creation, expression, and marketing methods. They are approachable and down-to-earth, which can help to strengthen cooperation between China and Singapore.
