Adeline Wong Wan Ying, a tourist from Malaysia, shared her experience during her visit to Shandong at Mingshui Ancient Town on April 10, highlighting the convenience of China’s 240-hour visa-free transit policy.
She was among a group of 150 tourists from Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia who participated in a trip to Shandong cities such as Qingdao, Zibo, Jinan and Weifang.
The Southeast Asian Tourists Visiting Shandong event is part of efforts by Shandong authorities to attract more international tourists. Since its launch in October, nearly 10,000 tourists from Southeast Asian countries have visited Shandong in group tours.
Shandong enjoys close connections with Southeast Asian countries in terms of people-to-people ties, geography, and culture, offering great potential for cultural and tourism cooperation, said Sun Lei, deputy director of Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
Shandong will streamline channels for personnel exchanges, enrich product offerings, and optimize service to provide a comfortable environment for international visitors, she added.
