Shandong Airport Management Group has introduced new services on March 30 that will integrate tourism into its operations.
With the beginning of the 2025 summer flight season, the group's airports have increased weekly flight plans by 6.2 percent, now operating over 300 routes. New routes include Changsha–Jinan–Hami, Jinan–Xilinhot–Baotou, and Yantai–Huizhou, among others. Additionally, popular routes like Jinan–Kunming and Yantai–Wuhan have been improved.
In addition to the updated flight schedules, Shandong airports are collaborating with local tourism and cultural organizations. Airports in Jinan offer transit tourism services, providing day-trip and overnight packages for connecting passengers. Airports in Yantai, in partnership with airlines, offer 50 percent discounts on Penglai Pavilion tickets. Passengers arriving at Weihai's airport can receive discounts on hot spring resorts and accommodation. Airports in Linyi provide discounts on six scenic spots and one homestay with boarding passes. Rizhao Airport offers discounts on nine local tourist attractions, and Heze Airport is taking advantage of the upcoming peony festival with packages combining flights, peony garden tickets, and hotels.
Moreover, the Shandong Airport Management Group plans to further integrate aviation and tourism, leveraging Shandong's rich cultural resources such as Mount Tai, the Yellow River, and Confucius. It aims to develop more innovative travel products in collaboration with airlines and tourism agencies.
